Canada is an increasingly popular gap year destination and BUNAC, the work abroad leader, is witnessing a hike in popularity for 2009/10 with the added attraction of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Whistler. BUNAC, exclusive suppliers of the Open Work Authorisation visa opened their 2009/10 Work Canada programme on the 10th December. The organisation has already registered a high level of interest in the programme, but those who apply promptly still have an excellent chance to secure their own slice of the Olympic action.

Ski gear and walking boots aren’t the only essentials for anyone heading to Canada on a working holiday; a visa is vital to take advantage of local job opportunities. BUNAC’s year-round Work Canada programme gives its participants access to that all-important visa so they can take up any kind of employment, anywhere in Canada. The visa lasts for a full year and is exclusive to BUNAC – but it’s available in limited numbers, making it all the more crucial to apply early.

Work Canada is open to British passport holders aged 18-30, including students taking a gap year before university, recent graduates and non-students on a career break. The programme fee is £200 and covers all programme literature, administration to secure the visa and full support in the UK and Canada, including an arrival orientation in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal.
