Gapwork Gap Year and Summer Jobs Abroad Tips: Find work in the Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands (Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera) are all top holiday destinations for Northern Europeans in search of some sun. That means that the hundreds and thousands of hotels, bars, restaurants and resorts catering for tourists in these places need English speaking staff each summer season - perfect if you are seeking a summer job either as part of a gap year or during your summer off. Ibiza and Mallorca are the most popular Islands so we recommend you concentrate your job search there - and Ibiza is probably the one you want for the clubs and bars and nightlife when you are not working! However for this reason, there's a lot more competition for jobs in Ibiza and you may find yourself having to settle for work handing out flyers or working in a bar - our tip, head out early, the holiday season starts in May! If Mallorca is your choice, we recommend you head for Magaluf early and start canvassing for work - the giant BCM complex is probably your best bet.
