A Gap Year in Tanzania with The Leap
21st of April 2008
Teach orphaned children and help restore coral reefs this summer
Be part of a dynamic team this summer, spend part of your gap year or summer break venturing out to the safari Mecca of Tanzania, Africa, home to some of the best known conservation game parks in the world and the famous Indian Ocean coast line.
Experience ‘real’ African life by living with Tanzanian families at the the beach close to Dar es Salaam on the Indian Ocean coastline. Enrich the lives of street kids through teaching and taking them out on safari. Restore coral reefs off the coast by teaching fishermen about the dangers of fishing with dynamite, and harvesting off coral reefs. Help put together adventurous safaris and help on cheetah research projects for just a taste of this dynamic placement.
The variety of projects, in this dynamic and effective community and conservation volunteer placement, will keep you inspired, motivated and give you a true insight into this fascinating country.
On your time off you will have the chance to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, scuba dive off the spectacular coral reef and venture out on safari.
