Jobs in Australia - The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate

7th of January 2008

If you are looking for any kind of licensed trade work in Australia, you should get an RSA certificate.

If you are hoping to find work in Australia in a bar, hotel, club or anywhere that serves alcohol, then you will need to get a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. The courses cover topics such as rules relating to alcohol service in different Australian states, alcohol limits, duty of care to customers, managing customers and the effects of alcohol. Most courses are completed in a day, and there are many different providers in each state. Be aware that if you want to work in a licensed trade in New South Wales, you need a specific NSW certificate, rather than the Nationally Accredited Certificate which is accepted in all other states. While you will need to pay to complete the course and get your certificate, it is definitely worth doing to help boost your chances of finding work.
