Top Things To Do in the USA

America is such a large country that there is an endless list of things to do! It is hard to narrow down all the activities and experiences into one list but we have attempted to do so. Here we recommend five things to do during your travels and stays in New York, San Francisco and Miami:

1. Go to the top of the Empire State Building – New YorkEmpire State Building in New York

The Empire State Building is a famous landmark in New York. When it was opened in 1931 it was the tallest building in the world and was built to house offices. Nowadays the building is probably most famous for appearing in the King Kong movies and as an iconic city landmark. It is therefore a must visit for any film-buff as well those wanting to take a trip up the building to the observatories at the top to witness magnificent views of Manhattan.

2. Walk around Central Park – New York

Central Park is a park in the middle of Manhattan and the sheer size of the park needs to be seen to be believed as it stands at 843 acres. Within the park you can take various walks and see lakes, theatres, fountains and playgrounds. If you fancy exploring more of the park than foot will allow, it is recommended that you hire a bike or some skates. For the more energetic you can always join the New York fitness fanatics (and freaks!)and jog.

3. Visit Alcatraz Island – San Francisco

Alcatraz Island is located just off San Francisco and was home to the famous prison that was supposedly inescapable. In its time it housed some of the most dangerous prisoners, such as the Chicago gangster Al Capone and the bank robber George “machine gun” Kelly. Visit the prison to find out about its history and see the cells first hand. This is a truly strange and eerie place and one which is a fascinating experience.

4. Cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge – San FranciscoGolden Gate Bridge in San Francisco

One of the best ways to see the Golden Gate Bridge as well as views of San Francisco is by hiring a bike. As a cyclist there is toll-free access to cycling across the bridge. Stop mid-way across the bridge and look across at the city as well as looking at the weather as it is often very changeable with fast-moving fog. Once over the bridge why not cycle to Sausalito where you can have lunch.

5. Visit the Cuban Memorial Miami Boulevard - Miami

Experience a unique place in by visiting the Cuban Memorial Boulevard. This boulevard is home to a number of monuments to Cuban freedom fighter and patriots. This is a fascinating and moving place that needs to be seen to be explored while on a visit to Miami.
