Flashpacking: Luxe backpacking in Thailand

Monday 23rd January 2012

Want a little bit of glamour on your year out? You’re a “flashpacker”! Thailand now offers a huge range of accommodation from A-frame beach hut to 5* luxury. Here we focus upon the low-end luxury – who said backpacking is for crusties?

Why Thailand?
Thailand is as well known to backpackers now as India, and with good reason. Thailand's beaches are one of the country's biggest drawers. Picture perfect still seas framed at the water's edge with traditional colourful longboats.

As well as all out lazing in the sand or hammock, Thailand's beaches also offer plenty of adventurous activities for the most restless - from diving to rock climbing, inland trekking to snorkelling.

Thailand is best visited between November and March as it is the dry season, however the beaches are your best bet any time of the year compared to other inland areas.
