Job Available at Gap Year Company Coral Cay Conservation

Sunday 13th March 2011

Coral Cay Conservation is looking for a new Director of Operations to look after its overseas operations.

This role involves travel as well as a huge variety of hands-on responsibility. Coral Cay Conservation run gap year volunteer programmes in Tobago, Cambodia and the Philippines for anyone from gay year students to company directors on a career break. Coral Cay Conservation (CCC) is at the forefront in the field of the provision of credible volunteer-based science expeditions. CCC prides itself on excellent science and equally high levels of safety quality both in the UK and overseas.

The Director of Operations will oversee all non-UK operations and ensure the correct and safe delivery of these programs. This responsibility extends to overseeing both the logistical, operational and staff recruitment needs of CCC.

The successful candidate will have experience of expeditions and be able to manage a high workload (sometimes out of hours where necessary) and be able to deliver a remote management package that relies on heavy prioritisation, often under stressful conditions. Currently this responsibility exists for our programs in Tobago, Cambodia and the Philippines.

A unique opportunity ideally suited to someone with expedition and/or relevant project management experience wishing to gain a great deal more experience and knowledge in effective conservation expedition management at a senior management entry level through an internationally respected, volunteer-based, conservation organisation. CCC is a UK registered company with head offices based at Waterloo, London SE1. The Coral Cay Conservation Trust is a UK- registered charity.

Candidates should submit their C.V. and a covering letter by email only to:
