Oasis Overland launches Palestine Homestay Opportunity in Bethlehem

Wednesday 8th June 2011

Stay overnight with a family in Bethlehem

Adventure travel specialist, Oasis Overland is introducing the chance to overnight with a Palestinian family in Bethlehem on their Egypt & Israel Explorer trips, providing a unique opportunity to experience Palestinian life and the West Bank first hand.
The optional excursion costs £60 and includes a tour of Hebron and the Old Town of Bethlehem as well as the Palestinian homestay.  It is available on two of Oasis Overland’s Regional Explorer tours, the 15 day and 19 day Egypt & Israel Explorer.
The overnight tour starts in Jerusalem, entering the West Bank and travelling through Israeli settlements to the city of Hebron.  After visiting Abraham’s Tomb and the winding streets of the old quarter, the tour continues to Bethlehem to visit a refugee camp and the old Dividing Wall as well as the famous Church of the Nativity in the Old City.  The evening is spent in the home of a Christian Palestinian family, providing the chance to socialise with a local family and to gain a better understanding of their culture and outlook.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about everyday life in today’s Israel and Palestine as well as to experience some of the world’s most historic, cultural sites.
The first Egypt & Israel Explorer starts in Cairo on 24th July 2011 and costs from £1090 for 19 days and from £990 for 15 days (prices do not include flights)
