Safari, in Kiswahili, simply means "journey", but most of us know it as an African wildlife adventure, so if you’d like to embrace the challenge of volunteering at an orphanage in Tanzania, at the same time as experiencing one of the most amazing journey’s of your life, take a look at the opportunities from MICATZ.

MICA are committed to social justice and coordinates the placement of international volunteers who seek to learn and contribute by working as part of community initiated projects in developing countries. Volunteer at an orphanage in Tanzania and help improve the future and the education of disadvantaged children. Volunteers in Tanzania work proactively in the orphanage community where they share their love, compassion, skills and efforts with the children. Hundreds of orphan children who suffer from extreme poverty, HIV/AIDS and hopelessness leave their villages and travel to Arusha, Moshi and other cities, where they most often end up worse off on the street. Most orphanages in Tanzania lack resources and are under-staffed. Orphanages in Tanzania focus primarily on offering formal and informal schooling and a safe place to live and study.

Maasai International Challenge Africa (MICATZ) is a non-profit organization based in Tanzania and run by a team of volunteers spread around the world.
