Shumba Experience offers a wide variety of Conservation projects and Community work in Africa for Gap Year & University students, Career Breakers and adventure enthusiasts.
You’ll be living in the middle of a game reserve where you’ll be involved with a range of activities including game capture & relocations, learning essential bush survival skills, enjoying sleep outs under the night sky or even monitoring & researching wildlife, such as leopard, lion, hyena, rhino and many more!!
The Conservation, Community & Marine projects range from a short period of one week up to twelve weeks – you can even combine projects for an unforgettable experience!!
CONSERVATION (2-12 Weeks):
· Game Capture – Join the Vet Safari team moving animals across Africa
· Nkombi – White Rhino & Brown Hyena monitoring project
· Esingeni – Game Ranger course based in a bush camp
· Amakhala – Help monitor lion pride & all round conservation work
· Wildlife Conservation – All aspects of wildlife management on a reserve
· Conservation & Rehabilitation – Establish a new reserve & assist at the breeding centre
MARINE (2-12 Weeks):
· ORCA – Dolphin & whale research and community work with children
· Great White Sharks – Eco-tourism project in South Africa
MINI ADVENTURES (1-2 Weeks):
· Bush Survival - Gain vital survival skills in the South Africa bush
· Nkombi – White Rhino & Brown Hyena monitoring project
