SPW

Work with communities in Africa and Asia to make a real difference.

SPW runs health, education and environmental based programmes in South Asia (Nepal and India) and Africa (Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa) for 5 – 11 months.

As an international development charity, SPW recruits volunteers to live and work alongside local volunteers on sustainable grassroots projects addressing the real health, social and resource needs of rural communities.

Working as trained peer educators, volunteers deliver important messages through non-formal education methods that facilitate attitude and behavioural change as well as knowledge transfer on issues as diverse as HIV and AIDS, malaria and women’s rights.

By working with and through young people, SPW empowers the next generation to act as catalysts for change in their own communities.

SPW currently have placements available in their 6 programmes and would welcome people aged between 18-28 who are flexible, enthusiastic and who are excited by the challenge of working in a rural community with local volunteers. Flights, insurance, 4 weeks in country training and a local allowance will be provided by SPW.
