A strong moral and ethical philosophy and excellent reputation

Let us be frank. We are a company. We do need to make a profit. We do not say we are a ‘Not for Profit' organisation or a ‘Non Government Organisation' as we believe that unless you are a registered charity or the United Nations that a business should not claim such titles for themselves. In our opinion it is misleading and that is not a good starting point for you to begin your experience. Because we try to operate direct to source this also allows us to ensure that at least sixty five to seventy percent goes to the charity and that a foreign agent does not take a cut.
The ability to put you in touch with past and present volunteers

We were the first major company in the UK to set up a Facebook page. Once on Facebook, just go to Groups and type Twin Work and Volunteer Abroad in the search box. People wanted to be put in touch with former volunteers but the data protection laws made this difficult at best. Thanks to Facebook you can now post questions and talk with our present and former volunteers. We also recommend that if you are thinking of volunteering to go on a well-known forum like Gapyear.com (you have probably been there already). They have lots of message boards, including a company forum where you can check out what people think of different companies. Just type Twin in the search.
The best quality and cheapest prices around

This is a big claim (please see above about checking us out on Facebook and forums) but it is really quite simple: Wherever possible we send direct to charities. This not only allows us to keep our prices lower, as there is often no ‘middle man' but also allows us to keep the website up to date with current information and to be able to talk to you with confidence about the programmes. We do not have thousands of programmes like other companies as we believe that this would simply make us a travel agent and we would lose the ability to be able to give you accurate, reliable advice. Our team are ex volunteers, TEFL teachers and general backpackers. Between us we speak seven languages and have lived all over the world.
A constantly updated website

Because we maintain close links with our charities and partners we are able to change things as and when they happen. This is especially important with third world and developing countries as the situations and facts tend to change due to unforeseen circumstances, for example, termites eating the volunteer accommodation
